What to Expect on Your First Visit
When you first visit the clinic, a detailed medical history will be taken. The time this takes will depend on your medical history. It is very important to inform of all past and present medical information, and such information is taken in the strictest of confidence. Your medical history is essential because it may help better understand your presenting concern. Also, you may be asked to remove some clothing so that a postural assessment can be made. This will include a static evaluation and some simple mobility testing to understand better how your whole body relates mechanically to your issue. An examination will then focus on the area/s which appear to be causing the problem. Following this, treatment will proceed or, in some cases, a referral to a medical practitioner if deemed appropriate.
