Bowen Therapy

Bowen Therapy is amazing for treating pain and injuries of the body.

It is a light and gentle form of bodywork that often brings about remarkable results and long-lasting relief from pain. A Bowen treatment involves a series of gentle rolling movements over specific muscles, tendons, ligaments and nerves. These gentle movements have powerful affects on the body which causes the body to begin a natural healing process. Bowen therapy addresses the entire body by restoring balance to the autonomic nervous system. Therefore, it prompts the injured area, and body in general, to shift from a stressed, sympathetic state, to a rest and repair parasympathetic state. So, not only does Bowen address the site of pain in the body but it also addresses the body as a whole.

Bowen Therapy

During a treatment it is not uncommon for clients to fall into a state of deep relaxation and even sometimes sleep. The Bowen technique has been popular in Australia for many years and is now becoming popular in the UK. Because of its success in treating injury and pain it is now possible to get referred by one’s GP for Bowen Therapy on the NHS in England, which is a testament to its effectiveness in treating pain. It is possible to do a Bowen treatment through light clothing (not jeans) so it is a non-invasive form of treatment.
